My goal for this year!

September 7, 2008

My goal for this year is to have a 4.0 GPA or higher. Everyone wants to get good grades, but I really feel pressured to do well this year. I spent my freshman year at a private school, which was extremely costly both for school and finances. The classes were very tough, because there were at most 15 students in one class. You couldn’t be a lackadaisical student and get by with A’s, because the teachers knew you personally. My problem was being too lazy and not trying hard enough during study time. I ended up receiving a 3.1 GPA at the end of the year.

Last year, I remained a lazy student. I ended up with a 3.8 GPA, which is not what I wanted. I know this year I can get at least a 4.00 GPA. If I do well on the AP exam, then it’ll be even better.
Another goal is to stay in shape over the winter, because most of us tend to get a little lazy during that time. I also want to grow at least one inch this year. Just one. I haven’t grown for a year a half I think. I’ve only gained a little weight but no height.

A final goal is to do well this year in golf and make it to state. One of my ambitions is to win state, which is a  very lofty goal. However, it is one of my biggest goals, and I want to try my hardest this year.

Nice goals you have there Justina… but jeez gain weight instead of height? lol jk.
Hope you do well… now I can tell why you don’t want to add your freshmen year G.P.A. when competing.
I know how you feel. I was at Fairview High when I was a freshmen and ended up with a G.P.A. of 3.6. And that was just barely too. Just one more B could’ve been a 3.4, good thing I had half of my classes as a IB Program or else I couldn’t have earned credits the same way you would earn with APs.
Yeah, you’re in a tight spot like I am.
Oh yeah, one more thing… you spelled your words wrong in Korean….[sigh] again… I’ll tell you again on monday.

Oh, great, Justin… now you’re copying my moves? lol you slacker…. jk.
By the way about the “laptop” thing…
I’m not sure about working on our projects on monday so I’ll bring it but, I won’t bring it to class until I check with Mrs. Scow first thing in the morning so do the same thing, so that you don’t have to bring it when we don’t even need it… :)
Also, one more thing, I got my new laptop.
It’s brand new model and style, etc. If you see it, you’ll flip like I did, along with my family and my brother-in-law who was a major in technology, etc. You’ll see~

Justin, those are some really great goals. I know you will push yourself to get a 4.0 because you can tell by the way you kept talking about it. lol. Keep reminding yourself of those goals and trust me you will complete them.

And when it comes to not knowing what college you want to go to and not knowing what you want to do when youa re older. Don’t worry about it. Focus on getting a good grade and then through out the year I think that you will be able to find a college you would like to go to.
*Remember there are a BUNCH of collelges to choose from, the only hard part is finding the right one. But I know that you can do that. :)

Justin, for now just do your job as a student. Keep up the good grades and later on when we all take the ACTs, score them high…at least above a 26. So, like all the juniors (I think) start studying for them. Like I have, buy those books and start studying over them during weekends. And since you didn’t know what you wanted to become, those will eventually come like Jordyn said. So, basically after this year, all the grades are set for you to transfer to colleges… I bet you’ll have your decisions by then… trust me, some people are even realizing it now… lol. But, if you knew, who you wanted to become, that’s a different story. Remember, that money isn’t the ONLY thing that you want to go for. You want to have fun while you’re at it. For me, when I was little… when my cousin fell off her tricycle, she had a cut on her leg about 2 inches long (ouch I know) what I had in my pocket was… was a tissue that I saved up incase I had to blow my nose lol. I used that to wipe off the blood and helped her to our house. (of course the band-aids, etc. were done by her mom, my aunt) but, I think… when I think about it now… I think that was the reason why I wanted to become a doctor… to help people who are in need. Whether they homeless or rich, etc., I want to help people out. In your case, if you were going to be hit by a car while we’re walking, you might not believe me but, I would risk my life to save yours… :) So… think about what you want. I know you’ll find out.

Isn’t that what friendship is all about? not like cell phones, etc.? that’s what only foolish people thinks. real friends won’t do that… not for the ones who they care about.
